This one has been real popular with many stock removal makers for many years and with almost 12% chrome, and all that moly and vandium, I say let the stock removers keep it. This die steel is just too darn close to stainless for me to even touch. I would think that it would hold whatever edge you put on it for some time with all that Vanadium and Chrome, but all of those heavy carbide formers is what necessitates the 1.5% carbon.

Now before I get any grief about how good a knife somebody has made from this steel, I just want to say I have made some very good knives from other steels that were a whole lot less headache to heat and hammer on.
